Lovely Venetian musicians doing what they do best

27-30 October 2016

All the way from Canada!
Gaining confidence
All together now!

We are delighted with our weekend workshops in Venice, and so we are pleased to confirm we will be holding another course this year. It takes place in October over three and a half days (Thursday - Sunday) in Giudecca, in the Spazio CZ95 at the Centro Culturale Zitelli.

The workshop fee covers the following:

  • all administration charges

  • tuition

  • at least one 15 minute session on the podium each day

The fee does not cover travel to Venice, transport within Venice, accommodation or food and drink during the course. As usual, participants must provide their own scores.

The format for this workshop follows the model of our UK course in that there are two sessions per day, and each conductor has an allocated amount of time on the podium for the week. The initital session on Thursday is a check up on baton technique, and we then have three days with the orchestra.  We are delighted to be using local professional orchestra Accademia Vivaldiana di Venezia for this project. The repertoire for 2016 is: Barber Adagio (for string quartet with double bass), Mendelssohn Octet and Mozart Symphony No.40. New for 2016 is a final concert on the Sunday evening, details of which will be posted here nearer the time.

Initial application for this Venice conducting masterclass is a straightforward process of emailing us with a completed application form to register your interest. Please see the application guide for more information or email us for further information.
