London Conducting Workshop

LCW @ PARIS

20 - 22 January 2012

Our exciting venture for 2012 is a brand new course in Paris. It is taking place in January over three days (Friday - Sunday) in the beautiful surroundings of the Cite Universitaire in the 14th arrondissement, and we are very fortunate to be using the beautiful Residence Lucien Paye for this Master Class. This course is aimed principally at students and previous attendees of workshops taught by John and Neil, and is designed as a refresher course to our existing courses.

The workshop fee covers the following:

  • all administration charges
  • tuition
  • at least one session on the podium each day

The fee does not cover travel to Paris, transport within Paris, accommodation or food and drink during the course. As usual, participants are required to provide their own scores.

The format for this Workshop follows the model of our UK courses in that there will be two sessions per day, and each conductor has an allotted time on the podium for each work. Friday will be with string quartet, Saturday and Sunday will be with orchestra, and we are delighted to be using Paris musicians for this project. The repertoire is as follows:

DAY 1 - BARBER Adagio

DAY 2 - BRITTEN Sinfonietta, Op.1

DAY 3 - TCHAIKOVSKY Serenade for Strings

Application for this Paris Master Class is a straightforward process of emailing us to register your interest. We will need to receive your application by 13 December and you will be notified of the results of your application within ten days. Looking forward to seeing you there!
